Online Boutique Label Los Angeles Focuses on Los Angeles Designers

New online retailer Label Los Angeles (www.label-la.com) brings L.A. shopping and designers to the world through a flash and eCommerce integrated website. The shopping resource also provides designer bios and trends.

Los Angeles, CA November 7, 2004 -- Label Los Angeles launched a new online shopping resource specializing in womens apparel and accessories from Los Angeles-based designers at www.labellosangeles.com.

The website promotes Los Angeles fashion by providing the backgrounds of emerging designers and offering trend reports on Los Angeles style. Current designers sold on Label Los Angeles include Amy Tangerine, Capital Tailors, Eisbar, Ella Moss, Grey Ant, Ticci Tonetto and Oligo Tissew. Label Los Angeles adds new talent every month and lines from Grail, KKornbread and Lacey J. are on order.

We want to create a boutique experience online, said partner Katie Bogue. Instead of just a shopping cart, Label Los Angeles offers a fun, stylish and easy-to-navigate website that includes unknown designers as well as recognized brands.

To set the website apart from the competition, Label Los Angeles and their web design team, Fluidesign, created a Macromedia Flash and eCommerce integrated site. The technology makes the online experience fluid as shoppers navigate the site by item or designer.

The owners, Emily Heintz and Katie Bogue, developed the idea in an entrepreneurship class at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. After graduating from the Professional Designate Program in June 2004, the business partners implemented their plan to launch Label Los Angeles.
